The museum of the Cherokee Indian is about 30 minutes away. While in Cherokee try your hand at Harrah’s Casino. Also located within a 15-minute drive are local micro-breweries, Cataloochee Ski Area, Tube World (snow tubing), Wheels Through Time (historic motorcycle museum, as featured on History Channels “American Pickers”), Ingles and Publix grocery stores, Walmart, and many great restaurants. Within 30 minutes are Asheville and the Biltmore Estates & Winery, Smoky Mountain National Park, Pisgah National Forest, several golf courses, Bryson City (home of the Smoky Mountain Railway and “Polar Express” during the Christmas Holiday), Transylvania County (home of the most waterfalls in the United States), and over 100 Antique Shops.
