Last weekend was the huge "ZdayZ" annual Nissan rally at Fontana Village. They had over 1000 cars registered.

"SOWO" European car rally in GA also took place, so lots of VWs and Audis passing through on the way there and back.

Unfortunately we had a bit of drama Friday, as the driver of this Audi slid off the road and got stuck in the leaves. The exhaust caught the leaves on fire, which in turn caught the car on fire. Driver escaped unharmed. Crazy firenado in this shot.

Driver was ok, some friends stopped and pulled him out of the car in a dazed state. Let this serve as a reminder that we should all carry fire extinguishers in our cars and on the bikes if space allows. They're super cheap, and just might save your vehicle or someone's life out here in the middle of nowhere.

There were a few pops/small explosions, but nothing major. Fuel tanks are so well vented these days they do not explode like you see in the movies, just a flare up and it's over.

I stuck a Garmin Virb cam down there because why not. Nothing else I could do at this point. Here you can see that the aluminum wheels on this side of the car have melted. The wheels on the other (cooler) side actually stayed intact.
